Master of Accountancy & Master of Tax Accounting

The Culverhouse School of Accountancy awards scholarships and assistantship opportunities to eligible students in the incoming Master of Accountancy or Master of Tax Accounting programs based on factors such as merit or need, depending upon the underlying scholarship agreements.

Currently Enrolled Alabama Accounting Students

This year, we are using the existing undergraduate scholarship application for our MAcc/MTA scholarships for currently enrolled UA accounting students. To be considered for scholarships/assistantships as an incoming MAcc/MTA student, please complete the scholarship form as follows:

  1. On your myBama, go to your Admissions/Scholarships Tab
  2. In the very first left-hand column titled “Scholarships”, you will see a section labeled “Undergraduate Students Only”. Click on the link underneath that title labeled “Current Student Scholarship Application”.
  3. Once you get into the application, please select the following information:
    • Anticipated class status: Senior
    • Anticipated college: Culverhouse College of Commerce (yes, we know that the college name is wrong)
    • Anticipated Graduation Term: Select either Spring 2020 or Summer 2020 depending on your personal estimated graduation date
  4. Fill out Section C of the form (the written section). This is your opportunity to provide details as to your financial situation. The section concerning extraordinary circumstances /special needs can be used to describe personal circumstances that are outside of your control and have, or likely have had, a significant impact on your academic performance. These challenges could be physical, emotional, or financial. Whether you have overcome these situations or are still currently dealing with them, they are still noteworthy to your personal growth while in school.

The deadline for this scholarship application is March 1st, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. There is no way to extend this deadline, so be sure to complete this as soon as possible. You do not have to have your Graduate School Application complete in order to submit the scholarship application. These are completely different applications. If you have any questions concerning this process, please contact Mrs. Mariel Knight in the accounting office for assistance (mknight@cba.ua.edu).
