The University of Alabama’s Executive MBA (EMBA) program requires a minimum of five years of professional work experience, active support by your current employer, an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution with a solid grade point average (prefer 3.0 GPA or better) and letters of recommendation from your employer and/or clients.

NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR OUR FALL 2021 HUNTSVILLE EXECUTIVE MBA COHORT!


 

Prospective students for UA EMBA must complete the following six application steps.

1. Complete the Graduate School Application
To apply for UA EMBA, prospective students must use The University of Alabama’s Graduate School application which included a non-refundable $65 application fee for U.S. citizens and permanent residents and a non-refundable $80 application fee for international students.  The application fee is waived for US Military Veterans, contact the UA Graduate School using this link – Veteran Application Fee Waiver. If you are an international student applying for the graduate school, please use the International Application.  Be sure to select “Executive Business Administration, MBA” as your program of study.

For Tuscaloosa program applicants, select Main Campus as the place of initial enrollment. Select Spring 2022 as the Proposed Entrance Term. Application deadline is October 19, 2021.

For Huntsville program applicants, select Huntsville EMBA as the place of initial enrollment. Select Fall 2021 as the Proposed Entrance Term. Application deadline is July 6, 2021.

2. GMAT or GRE score
The GMAT or GRE exam is no longer required for EMBA applicants who meet specific criteria established by the Manderson Graduate School of Business. To qualify for this exemption, an applicant must have strong work experience (at least five years) and an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better OR have already earned a master’s degree. Please contact the EMBA office for additional information on this policy.

3. Complete the Admissions Questionnaire
Please respond to the Admissions Questionnaire and upload your document in your application in the “Supporting Documents” section, using the drop down link labeled “Statement of Purpose”  You are NOT required to submit a Statement of Purpose document.  Your Admissions Questions Document takes the place of this Graduate School requirement. 4. Provide Two Letters of Recommendation
Applicants must submit two professional letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation may be requested through the “Recommenders” section of your online application. One letter must be from your supervisor, the second letter may be from another person within your company or a client. 5. Request College Transcripts
OFFICIAL transcripts must be requested from all institutions where you attended and earned 15 credit hours or more, and must be sealed with a registrar stamp or be sent electronically from your institution to grad.transcripts@ua.edu.  International transcripts must be written in English or accompanied by an English translation provided by the issuing institution.  Please note: If your undergraduate or graduate degree is from The University of Alabama, you do not have to request your transcripts from UA.

6. Participate in Personal Interview and Provide Résumé
A personal interview is required for all applicants. The interview may be conducted at any time during the application process. To set up an interview, please contact Cheryl Altemara at 205.348.4501 or caltemara@cba.ua.edu.

Once your file is complete, it goes before the Admissions Committee and is processed immediately.  Applicants will be notified of the decision by both the EMBA Office and the Graduate School Office.

Tuition and trip costs are subject to change for NEW students enrolling Fall 2021 or Spring 2022.

An $1,800, non-refundable tuition prepayment is due upon acceptance and is applied to your first term tuition bill.

Tuition: $55,973.00

  • Course content and materials, instruction, and faculty
  • Some reading materials (free library resources available to all UA students)
  • Career counseling & workshops
  • Special program enhancements – for example: outside speakers, leadership workshop

Optional EMBA Study Trip:  $4,000.00 – $5,000.00 estimated cost of trip
Two study trip payments will be requested if participating; a deposit when the trip is announced and balance to be paid the semester of travel.

  • Study trip academic program – company visits, consulting projects & some group cultural events
  • Lodging during international study trip
  • Most meals during study trip
  • Some air, rail or bus travel between countries/cities (Does not include airfare from and to the U.S.)


Lodging

Students are responsible for securing their own lodging, if needed, in Huntsville and Tuscaloosa while enrolled in either program cohort.
