Manderson Serves is an experiential learning opportunity that leverages the talent of graduate business students at The University of Alabama to provide local businesses with unique business solutions on issues ranging anywhere from marketing and financial analysis to human resource management and accounting bookkeeping.
Our mission is to give Manderson students the opportunity to collaborate with our neighbors and community partners beyond the Capstone. We will facilitate student community engagement through resources including what is learned in the classroom and leveraging the abilities of fellow Manderson graduate students to collaborate with community partners to better serve society. As a result, we will help Manderson develop a culture of service by empowering students to develop their skills in active citizenship and the ability to apply what they learn in the classroom to real-world settings.
Manderson Serves will be structured similar to a student organization with an executive committee leading a membership of graduate students interested in community outreach. This executive committee will lead the recruitment process, participate in the selection of projects and assigning members to teams. Manderson graduate students who apply and are selected will be divided into teams and assigned to projects submitted by our community partners, with. Advisors of Manderson Serves will be Clinical Instructors from Manderson and Community Leaders. They will have a final say in selected projects and aid in communication between students and our community partners.
